What is an Entrepreneur/Entrepreneurship?

An entrepreneur refers to a person who has an innovative business idea, who is willing to take the risk of implementing the idea, and who also takes on the role as leader of the company or organization - assuming full responsibility for its execution, success, or failure. A modern interpretation may associate being an entrepreneur with innovative and creative ideas for online use, and with someone who can use the power of the internet to fill a niche.

Entrepreneurship is one of the fundamental drivers in a free-market economy, and the primary source of U.S. Job growth. UA-PTC recognizes the role of entrepreneurship in the local, state, and global economy and places a priority on entrepreneurship education in getting students ready for a business career. As an entrepreneurship major at UA-PTC, you will learn how to start or acquire a business, write a successful business plan, manage limited resources, networking quick pitches, attract venture funding, and lead strong entrepreneurial teams.

Where do UA-PTC Graduates go?

Some Entrepreneurship majors transfer to four-year schools to earn a bachelor's degree. Others become small business owners or small business managers in the greater Little Rock area. Current student business owners own businesses such as barber shops/hair salons, lawn care companies, fashion retail boutiques, flea markets, bookkeeping services, and more.
