UA-PTC Youth Chefs Culinary Camp

Registration Opens
Saturday, February 19 ∙ 8 a.m.
Camp Tuition - $275 per camp

All camps have SOLD OUT but we encourage those interested to utilize the wait lists that can be found on each camp registration page.

  • Camps will meet for five days, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Camps will be held at the UA-PTC Culinary Arts and Hospitality Institute: 13000 I-30 Frontage Road, Little Rock, AR 72210.
  • Campers will receive a camp t-shirt and culinary kit.
  • A mid-morning snack will be served daily.
  • All Baking, Cake, and Culinary Camps are best suited for campers between the ages of 10-17 years old.
  • Caking it with Kids is best suited for younger campers between the ages of 6-9 years old.

Session I: Monday, June 6 – Friday, June 10

Session II: Monday, June 13 – Friday, June 17

Session III: Monday, June 20 – Friday, June 24

Session IV: Monday, June 27 – Friday, July 1


Camp Descriptions:

Caking it with Kids! - A New Camp for Campers Between the Ages of 6-9 years old.

Students will practice butter cream piping techniques and simple fondant decor to decorate cookies, cupcakes, and finish with a fun and trendy character cake.

Offered: Session I, June 6 – June 10 only


Baking, Cake, and Culinary Camps - Best suited for Campers Between the Ages of 10-17 years old.

Please Note: Level One camp must be taken before a student can enroll in a Level II camp.

Cake Camp Level I - Students will learn to bake, fill, and frost cupcakes and celebration cakes. Butter cream piping, fondant, and modeling techniques will be used so that students can create a variety of designs. The final project is a celebration cake that the students will design using all their new skills!

Cake Camp Level II - Students will continue to develop their piping and sugar modeling skills. Students will work on techniques and decorations to create royal iced sugar cookies, sugar flowers, and a final project for an inter-camp Youth Chef Culinary Camp Sugar Art Show!

Offered: Session II, June 13 – June 17 only.

Baking Camp Level I - In this weeklong camp, students will learn the basics of baking breads, pastries, cakes, and confections. Scaling and organization in the kitchen will also be taught.

Baking Camp Level II - Students will build on techniques learned in Level I, including croissants, macarons, and plated desserts!

Offered: Session III, June 13 – June 17 and Session IV, June 27 – July 1 only.

Culinary Camp Level I - Students will learn the fundamentals of culinary arts & baking as they work through different stations to create different a variety of menus. Knife skills, basic cooking techniques, breads and desserts are covered, along with sanitation, teamwork, organization, and leadership skills.

Culinary Camp Level II – Four New Options!

Culinary Camp Molecular Gastronomy- Students get to explore the scientific principles to food preparation to produce innovative dishes using modern techniques and ingredients.

Offered: Session I, June 6 – June 10 only

Culinary Camp Continental Cuisine - Students will continue to hone their knife skills and learn advanced fundamentals of cooking and baking while they taste the cuisines of Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Africa.

Offered: Session II, June 13 – June 17 only.

Culinary Camp Cook the Book- Students will create themed menus inspired by Harry Potter, Narnia, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, and other famous books and characters.

Offered: Session III, June 13 – June 17 only.

Culinary Camp Cookout - Students will learn about the four styles of BBQ in the United States and the basics of grilling and smoking, along with popular side dishes.

Offered: Session IV, June 27 – July 1 only.


Registration Tips:

  1. Be Prepared! Due to the popularity of these camps and limited kitchen space, most camp options sell out quickly.
  2. Choose the camp options that work best for your camper/s before registration opens.
  3. Create or update your account in our registration system before registration opens. This can take several minutes to complete so take care of this step before camp enrollment begins. Directions are below.
  4. Registration is scheduled to begin on Saturday, February 19 at 8 a.m. CST. on this webpage. We suggest you visit this webpage 5-10 minutes early to assure you have a strong internet connection and no technical issues.
