Online Tutoring

Accessing Online Tutoring

1. Login to Blackboard (all currently enrolled students have access) with your campus email/portal user name and password.

2. Under My Courses, select LAC Online Tutoring.

3. In the column to the left, select Blackboard Collaborate.

4. Click on the link (session) with the tutor's name and subject. (Make sure the correct session and time selected are correct.)

5. Click the "Join" tab.

6. Once you have joined the session, click the audio icon at the bottom of the page to enable sound.

7. Wait for the tutor to welcome you to his/her session.

The Learning Assistance Center (LAC) is available for online tutoring. We are making our online tutoring more flexible and work in conjunction with our face-to-face (F2F) services. Using Blackboard, students can see and hear familiar faces they are accustomed to working with from the LAC. We want to continue to assist students as we move forward with our new normal. To honor our students and our UA-PTC mission statement we have balanced the tutoring experience with 50 percent online and 50 percent F2F. Doing so provides all students access to a high-quality education, promoting and enabling student learning that develops to their fullest potential.

English and Literature online tutors are available to assist with:

Writing assignments will need to be e-mailed to onlinetutoring@uaptc.edu in PDF format. While tutors can help with grammar, they can't proofread entire writing assignments. However, tutors will be happy to answer specific questions.
