Tutoring Services

The Tutoring Center in the CHARTS Collaboration Center aims to provide one-on-one assistance to current UA-PTC students in order to help them become more effective, confident writers. The Tutoring Center is staffed by faculty members whose intention is to support students through the writing process and to encourage learning across disciplines. The Tutoring Center provides students with a comfortable and productive workspace in which they can share their work with respectful, receptive faculty tutors.

Tutoring Center services:

  • Computer lab with printing
  • Faculty tutoring in all stages of the writing process
  • Research help
  • Documentation and citation assistance
  • Grammar tips
  • Paper topic brainstorming for all disciplines
  • Word processing guidance
  • Blackboard navigation help
  • Free writing workshops
  • Training for faculty

Advising Services

The Faculty Advising Help desk in the Collaboration Center aims to assist current transfer students in guided pathways toward graduation. The Advising Help desk is staffed by faculty advisors who can help students with degree auditing and planning as well as assists with students in registering for their classes each semester and exploring transfer opportunities. The Help desk also facilitates training for faculty advising and leads in faculty advising initiatives.

Advising Help desk services:

  • Degree auditing for transfer degrees
  • Degree planning for transfer degrees
  • Exploration of transfer opportunities
  • Help with registering for classes
  • Connecting students with discipline mentors, campus resources, and student services
